Dance and Music together against violence towards Women

This message is dedicated to my friends and colleagues in the Dance World.

I'd like you to know about a project linked to the terrible femicide of Giulia Cecchettin, the young Italian girl killed by her ex-boyfriend who kept the whole of Italy in suspense.

Giulia has studied dance for many years and some time ago her ballet teacher asked me to compose a piece dedicated to her.  The piece was composed and choreographed in memory of her.

The music is called "Lettera a Giulia" (Letter to Giulia).

From this request an idea was born that I would like to share with all of you...

I composed a version of this piece specifically for ballet class.

It will be available completely free of charge as a music file for all schools, academies and dance companies in the world and their directors, their ballet masters and their teachers, in short for all of you.
It will be published on social media and all online music platforms.

Whenever you have the desire and pleasure to use this music in class, this will be the symbol of the union of dance and music against violence towards women.

At the same time I created the score that I will send free of charge to all the fellow ballet pianists I know around the world.
They too, if they have the desire and pleasure to play this piece during classes, will join you as musicians against violence against women.

I hope you like this project and can have your support.

My dream is that when the music starts, for a few minutes a piece of music and a choreography of an exercise will transform into an immense voice, speaking to the world about beauty, art and culture, a high and deep voice that bury with incredible force the shame and horror of all the feminicides that unfortunately infest our planet.

Following on you find a version of the piece for ballet class, followed by the full original version for the choreography.
Thank you all.
Massimiliano
