Massimiliano Greco, composer and pianist, he accomplished his musical studies and graduated with the highest mark at the Conservatory of Music “N.Piccinni” of Bari, studying with Maestro Hector Pell.
He studied musical composition with Maestro Ottavio De Lillo, in Bari.
He won several piano competitions such as:
- National Piano Competition “Città di Valentino” (I prize);
- National Piano Competition “Città di Sorrento” (I prize);
- XV International Piano Competition FRANZ LISZT in Lucca (I prize);
- European Piano Competition in Ostuni-Italy (I prize).
He specialised in piano with Tito Aprea, Alexander Lonquich, Maria Golia, Carla Giudici and with Michele Campanella and Alexis Weissemberg at the “ACCADEMIA CHIGIANA” of Siena.
He attended the following courses:
- Composition with Professor Teresa Procaccini;
- Conduction with Professor Nicola Samale;
- Computer music for the study of new sounds, with professors of the C.R.M., Centre of Music Research of Rome.
He wrote many compositions, including:
-“DIVERTISSEMENTS – 5 DANCES FOR PIANO”, performed at the International Festival of Bardolino;
-“SUITE PER PIANOFORTE “ for the drama “Le Cascate” of Margherita Sergardi, poetess and dramatist from Siena;
-“PRECES –
3 PRAYES FOR MIXED CHOIR AND STRING ORCHESTRA”, first performed at
Saint Nicholas Church in Bari.
He recorded a series of broadcasts for the Italian RADIO RAI and RADIO VATICANA, on F. Liszt and his unknown compositions.
In May 1990 he was awarded the DIPLOMA OF ARTISTIC MERIT of the International Centre C.I.A.S. – CLUB UNESCO, at the Headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Environment and Fine Arts.
SPECIALIZATION: BALLET AND CONTEMPORARY DANCE PIANIST AND COMPOSER
Since many years he specialized as pianist and composer for ballet and contemporary dance. He composes music for ballet class and for choreographies.
He worked with many world-renowned teachers, choreographers and Maîtres de Ballet, thus approaching different classical and contemporary techniques.

He has been invited as piano accompanist by the “HUBBARD STREET” DANCE COMPANY of Chicago during the Spoleto Festival.
In September
2001 he was chosen as italian pianist for the Master-Classes of
Vladimir Vassiliev during the International Dance competition of
Caltanissetta, in 2002 he accompanied Elisabetta Terabust and in 2003
Alessandro Molin’s Master Classes.
He recorded
a collection of CDs for classical ballet classes, for children’s
classes and for contemporary dance.
He planned a course of specialisation as “ballet pianist”, submitted to all Italian Conservatories.
He planned
also a course of theory and music style for dance teachers, and he
teaches music for dancers all over Italy.
He is often invited to dance competitions as a jury’s member.
He composed
the complete set music for the Character syllabus (polish, Hungarian
and Russian styles) for D.A.I.- DANCE ARTS INTERNATIONAL, London.
In 1998 he became President of the ASSOCIAZIONE REGIONALE PUGLIA DANZA, a Board for dance development and one of the best Italian organisations of dance events.
In September 2002 he became ballet pianist and Responsible of Music Department at “Accademia Internazionale Coreutica” (International Ballet Academy), in Florence.
In april 2007 he was invited in Palermo to play for Royal Ballet School's Outreach Programm and for Teatro San Carlo School of Ballet.
In july 2007 he was invited in Bolzano (Italy) by the National Foundation “Teatro Comunale” as main teacher of a Course for “Ballet Pianists “ sponsored and organized by the European Community.
From
November 2007 he worked as ballet pianist at Teatro San carlo Ballet
School, Naples
From august 2009 he was Ballet Pianist and Musical Assistant at Ballet du Capitole, Toulouse (France).
From september 2010 he is Principal Pianist and Head of Music Department of Académie Princesse Grace at Les Ballets de Montecarlo, Monaco
From 2013 he is also in charge of artistic relations between Academie Princesse Grace and Orchestre Philarmonique de Montecarlo
In august 2014 he has been invited for the first time by Architanz, Tokyo, to teach at the “WORKSHOP FOR BALLET PIANISTS”. Then, he's been invited many other times.
He realized a collection of 23 cds with pure music, music for ballet class and for choreographies.
September 2023, he received the 'Music and Dance Award' at Foligno Danza Festival for his career in playing and teaching, and for his music composed for the ballet world."
